As before, we had a GREAT time at the Scalini's dinner!!! Everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves and we gave away some great prizes. One of the first things that happened when we got there was that I got red wine spilled all over the front of my sweater! As you know, my dad is Italian and I made the mistake of standing too close to him while he was talking. You know, us Italians are always talking with our hands! Luckily, I had a white top on but at the last minute before we left the hotel room I changed my top to something else - that was good!! Here's a few shots of the fun!

SS10 - Friday!
Friday was the day the market "officially" opened and we were really busy!!! Here's a couple of pictures from the market.
This is Sarah, Me, Molly and Michelle. All of these ladies were VERY generous customers of ours during Stitches!
We were exhausted by the end of the day, especially since we had stayed up late at the Rav party the night before! But, of course, that didn't stop us from hanging out with our friends Regan, Grace, Sandy and Bob! Later, Wayne, Sandy, Bob and myself all went for dinner at Medici. My dinner was sucky and bland but the company and conversation were awesome!

SS10 - Rav Party!
On Thursday night we had the pleasure of attending (and being sponsors for!) the Ravelry party! It was a great time and the Rav folks were so gracious and gave away lots of fun prizes! We talked with Jess, Casey, Sarah and Mary-Heather a good bit and ya know what? I don't know why but it never even occurred to me to get our picture with them!!!! Darn!!

SS10 - Day 1
We had such a great time! Yesterday was basically a day of doing nothing and recouperating, as I am sure it was for many people there! I didn't get many pictures of our booth but luckily, Wayne did! Here's a couple pictures of Kate's booth - Wayne made her stands for her. She ended up doing great at the show and I saw lots of people walking around with Dragonfly Fibers bags - yay Kate! Her booth looked great and her yarn and fiber were beautiful!!!

WHEW!
What a SUPER FUN WEEKEND we had at Stitches South! Thank you to everyone who came by our booth and supported us! We are always amazed at the great number of kind comments we get and at how much stuff we sell - so YAY!!!
Of course, we are dog tired today after that trip. I do have lots of pictures for you but I'll get those off the camera in the next day or so. We have lots of unpacking to do and several orders to ship out that have come in over the weekend. If you have ordered anything, we'll get your order out this week unless it is an order for custom yarn. In that case, I will contact you individually about shipment time. In the meantime though, please enjoy these pictures of Missy sleeping in the dog pen! I caught her out there napping the other day.

The bear is back!!!
The night before we had to get up at 4AM and drive to Atlanta, the bear comes back and keeps us up half the night! Petey is just going NUTS, which is good because then we know the bear is back! When we saw him, he was moseying down the path leaving our property. But, in the daylight we got to see the damage that he caused while here.
I'm not sure if he tried to get into the chicken coop of if he was just making a mess wherever he went. The fence to our garden was all bent up and he bent one of the posts there (the garden is right next to our chicken coop) and some of the wire on the chicken coop was bent also. He also ended up yanking out two of the railroad ties on our bank. Good grief!!
So, we headed to the thrift store to buy a bunch of old pot tops to tie together and put on the chicken coop (why yes, we are from the South, why do you ask?). We figured, even if it does not scare him off, at least it will alert us. Here are a few pics - notice how big the chickens are already getting!!!! We stopped on our way home yesterday and bought two more so now we have 10!
If anyone has any brilliant suggestions for keeping the bear away from our chickens, I am all ears (well, eyes really but you know what I mean). We have also put up a few of those "driveway alerts" around our property and they beep in the house when something crosses their path outside. These are GREAT but of course, they are only helpful if we are here to hear them! I am hoping he comes back tonight because Wayne is going to go out there and shoot his shotgun a few times and REALLY scare the dickens out of him (not shoot him, just to make the noise to scare him - please don't send me any PETA letters! We would never shoot him unless we absolutely HAD to). So, we'll see what happens.
Then, we had to go to the feed store so that I could give Petey a kennel cough vaccine which I totally forgot that he needed and we were taking him to board the next day! Don't worry - he has already had it and he is only like a week late so he still has protection. We just needed to get it for the paperwork, ya know? Well, of course they were closed so I ended up running him up to the vet to get it.
THEN, we realized that the back tire was making a bad noise, which stinks because Wayne just replaced the brakes not too long ago. Come to find out that the brakes are wearing unevenly (something about calipers or some car related language like that) so he had to replace the brakes again! Especially since we were heading back out to Atlanta the next day and would then be driving home with a full trailer.
I tell ya, it's a good thing we came back home instead of staying down in Atlanta for an extra day!!

Getting ready!
Yesterday we went and set up our booth at Stitches South in Atlanta! It was a very busy but a fun day! Needless to say - we are tired today but we will be heading back out this morning to Atlanta today for a fun-filled weekend that we are really looking forward to! Here is some of the yarn waiting to go in the trailer:
Here are some pics of us loading up the trailer!
I was going to get some pictures of our booth for you but by the time we remembered, we had already covered everything up! So, I'll get some pics for you over the weekend. We got home around 2 PM after having set up and all and then we had to do some booby-trapping around here! I'll tell you about THAT tomorrow!
Here is a cool picture I swiped of two of the shawl kits being offered with Knit Witch yarn! These kits will be available in the Only Ewe and Cotton Too booth - aren't they pretty??
I hope we will see some of you there tonight and over the weekend. Everyone have a safe trip if you are coming to Stitches and we will see you there!!!

Wayne the Goat Wrangler
Remember the cute picture of the new baby goat?
Well, unfortunately Little Miss Thing's mom has rejected her so she is having to be hand fed. Gale (my stepmom) has been using another goat to feed her until she gets used to the bottle. Well, if you know anything about goats, you know that they will not nurse a baby that is not their own. So Gale tells Wayne "Hey, hold that momma goat over there so the baby can suckle for a while. Wayne was like "uh....what?"
Gale starts laughing and shows him how to hold the momma goat so that the little orphan can suckle. Oh. My. Gosh. I was trying SO HARD to get the video on my camera to work but I just could not figure it out. The fact that I missed getting this experience on film is so terribly upsetting to me I just can't even express the words.
The momma goat is SCREAMING like she is being seriously injured (she wasn't - AT ALL). If anything, it was Wayne who was getting injured! While that was going on, Wayne is trying his darndest to hold onto the goat and it wasn't really going very well. On top of that I have Gale in the background yelling "WAYNE, watch out for your crotch!!" "Don't let her get her horns in your crotch!!" Which, of course, is not making Wayne any more comfortable!
I did manage to get a few pictures of the rodeo though!
It was hilarious to say the least. I know I should have been helping him but I was too busy laughing.

More Farm Life
Not ours this time though! We headed to Alparetta last weekend to go visit my dad and take some yarn to Only Ewe and Cotton Too. My dad's house addition is all finished! A lot of my shots inside the house didn't turn out too well but I got a few for you. It looks GREAT!
Look at those super cool fans they put in!
And, check out the new baby goat! Isn't she so cute? I'll tell you a hilarious story about her tomorrow!
