Ocoee Whitewater Center

Wayne and I (and Petey) took a little day off last week to go play. We went to the Ocoee Whitewater Center in Copperhill, TN which is about 30 mintues north of us. This is the place where the 1996 Summer Olympic watersport games were held. Last time we were there the dam had been relased so the water was CRAZY and deep. This time is was like a lazy trickle. The difference was amazing. We packed up our backpacks with some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (one for Petey too!) and some water and headed off. Then it promptly started to pour down rain as soon as we got to TN. Nice.

Well, we went anyway and the rain let up long enough for us to have a nice little hike and sit by the water for a bit and let Petey play. I tell ya, that dog LOVES the water. He has a dip in the pond here at least once a day.

All in all it was a fun trip and we had a great day. I hope everyone has a great weekend!
