This stuff does NOT make me happy

Why are people and businesses so freaking wasteful??? I just don't understand it. We all have to see the impacts we place on our environment and do our part to at least make our own small part of the world a little better, a little greener and a little healthier. I realize this is not an eco-blog per se but most of you know that "green living" is something pretty important to Mr. Man and I. I don't shop at Starbucks anyway because I think their coffee is terrible and I always prefer supporting the "local guy" if we can. But, if you have not seen this story - take a peak.

We are heading to Atlanta today. Hopefully our blood pressures will remain within normal limits. I'll probably have some entertaining stories for you all next week about the trip! I'll leave you with a picture I took over the weekend. The camera was not at the right setting (I realized after I downloaded them) but you get the idea.

How rediculous is that?? Um, especially in a region going on how many years of drought? Oh, I never go there anyway but that's just awful and it would make me certainly stop going. Grrrr.

The butterfly us beautiful. I hope the Atlanta Starbucks weren't participating in that practice when they were on water restrictions over the past year.

i also saw the article and was disgusted. We also do not visit starbucks very often (except in despearate situations when no local small joe shop is around...which in seattle is not often!lol, small joe shops are everywhere!) Love the pic... if you ask me that pic should be your next sock colorway, fall wings!

I don't even wash my car because I think it's a waste of water! Grr...this burns me up!

Beautiful butterfly pic! I don't quite understand their excuse for constant running water. It leads me to believe that when they need a clean utensil, they just hold it under the water quickly. I have never been to a Starbucks.
Also, I suppose that if they can get away with excuses for wsting water, then they would find excuses for pollution elsewhere, and make it ok. I try not to waste or pollute. I am writing a book.

Beautiful picture of the butterfly!

About Starbucks, somehow it doesn't surprise me. We have one here at the university and the "baristas" are instructed to always make two shots of expresso and dump the second one if not needed which often it's not. I can't imagine how much water they're wasting in that practice alone throughout a normal day!
