You might be a redneck if...............

......you put contact paper that has wood print on it over your light switch plates in an attempt to make them look like real wood.

Oh yes, it's true. I took these down today (lovely as they are) as I just couldn't take it anymore:

And replaced them with these (nevermind the fact that whoever put these in didn't think about having to actually put a switch plate cover over them so I had to SQUEEZE to get them to fit on there together):

Now if you didn't get a close enough view of the faux wood contact paper here's another view. Notice that in addition to being totally tacky it is even a really crappy contact paper job:

Oh, and don't forget to look at the back too:

Niiiiice.

The scarf is pretty much done, I just have to finish putting the fringes on so I will post pictures of that tomorrow maybe. I just got back from Georgia Mountain Fiber and we are getting ready to do some sock yarn to put on Amia Yarn Company - so that is pretty exciting! They have a pretty cool theme they want to do with the sock yarn so I'll share it with you once it's up and going.

In the meantime, have you seen THIS? ESC did this up for me all fancy like. Whatcha think?? Slim and Willow caught in the act. Don't you think she might be a LITTLE young for him? Ah well, seems we like vast age differences between couples around here! :)

PS - Watch for the CONTEST soon!!! I should be posting the "rules" tomorrow.

So what you're saying is that I should return this roll of wood contact paper I just bought to decorate the house with? Sniff...Off I go...

:)

Nice. My mom used to use contact paper to do the entire kitchen. It was like shrinky dinks. Easy on, easy off.

Well I'm painting my light covers, and thought they were looking pretty bad. You made me look like a decorating genie compared to the wood grained contact paper.

Some folks seem to think there's nothing that can't be improved with a layer of contact paper!

contact paper should be reserved for binding ex spouses who greatly annoy you.
Viva la May-December romances!

Those light covers look like an episode of "When crafts go bad."
Love the cat picture!
