Look who's back!

The geese are getting active again. They are starting to pair off. Sometimes we have two "honeymooners" in our pond and sometimes we seem to have the whole slew of 'em. Yesterday I counted 17 of them in our neighbor's pond!! I think there are about 12 in this picture.

Granted, they didn't really GO anywhere - they just stayed at the pond right across the street - but they haven't been venturing out much over the winter. They are just flying all over and making all kinds of noise lately!

We've had tons of geese flying over lately. One day there was a flock so big it took a good minute or two for the entire flock to fly by. The noise was so loud we could here it in the house. Drives the cats nuts!

And pooping. Don't forget pooping everywhere. It's what they do best.

Hmm 17 is an odd number. I wonder if they also lead "alternative lifestyles" ;)

Kinda makes you hopeful for spring, doesn't it?

Our nearby pond attracts mostly ducks, but there are a few geese that visit. Noisy and bossy birds, but fun to watch. Yours are beautiful.

That is great! I love watching birds! (Well, except the pigeons. I loathe pigeons)
