Some things just aren't funny

Last night I started knitting a re-do on one of the cable swatches for the Master's Handknitting Program. The swatch was actually really good but the cable is supposed to be "balanced" on the swatch. Seeing as how there is a length requirement for the swatch - it was a little difficult to figure out exactly how many rows were needed on each side of the cable (top and bottom). It was not working. Not working. You know how you can do something a hundred times and then sometimes you do it and it just does not work? So - fine.

I have learned my lesson from that type of thing. If it isn't working, just put it down and come back to it later. Work on something else for a while. No problem. I picked up the Winter Solstice sock and started to work on that. I figure, I can do this it's nothing but stockinette stitch. Easy peasy.

I am about halfway up the leg when I notice a problem. A LARGE problem. Something I should have noticed WAY before now - especially since it is toe up and I have tried the darn thing on like 15 times.

That's right. I knit the heel on the WRONG FREAKING STITCHES!!!!!!!!!!! Nice, huh? And the funny(ish) thing is that I was so careful about choosing the "nicest" side of the sock for the top when I did the heel. I guess I didn't consider the fact that it also needed to be in line with the toe!

    I feel ya. I have always knit cuff down socks and followed a pattern. But one of my socks came out with the toe seam going from sky to ground instead of left to right. UGH

    Did I fix it? Heck no! I just wear that pair around the house! lol
