Wild Weekend!

Well, wildlife that is. We caught some pretty cool pictures of wild fowl hangining around our pond this weekend. First up - the Kingfisher. He found a tasty morsel in the pond. Count one less pond fish for us! We hear this little guy all the time.

Then later that day we saw this Pileated Woodpecker. These are one of the largest woodpeckers and they have a huge range of loud, distinctive calls. They seem to love hanging around our property. We hear them pretty often.

And last but not least - the regal Blue Heron. I think this guy likes to hang around our pond because the water is so clear. It makes his fishing chores that much easier I suppose!

  1. Your pictures of wildlife are lovely. The only wildlife we see in our backyard is this massive gopher. He's huge and lives under our neighbor's shed. :)

  7. Thanks for sharing your photos. I live in Michigan, and when I visit "up north" in Gaylord, we have all those birds around. I don't get up there as often as I want to, and it was great starting the day with 'old friends'
